Correspondence, 1861-1863.

Group consist of letters (52 items) that include letters of William Sterling to his wife, Tillie, and letters of Tillie to her mother A.V. Farquhar. Although William Sterling writes from various military posts in New York State, there is little mention of his military experiences. Much of the content regards his love and affection for her. The letters of Tillie to her mother, who lived in Philadelphia, concern family news, her social life in Plattsburgh, and fears of Confederate troops invading Pennsylvania.
